In officiating the launch of City to City Asia Pacific, Tim Keller gave us an inaugural talk on Faith & Work while Jay Kyle introduced the regional church planters to an audience of business and professional leaders in Hong Kong.
OUR FOUNDING MOMENT
FOUR years ago, back in March 2011, after traveling and meeting with pastors around Asia Pacific, Rev. Jay Kyle met with a small group of Hong Kong business leaders to discuss the formation of City to City Asia for its crucial timing and its missional significance. A strategic question was raised: "How will it impact the next generation if we don't plant these urban gospel-centered churches? If we don't plant these urban churches, there will be a void of Christian leadership in all areas of culture, such as business, professionals, education, justice, and the arts". It was then that City to City activities around the Asia Pacific region was formalized into a non-profit organisational entity. Till today, we remain true and diligent to the vision and mission we are founded on.

WATERMARK COMMUNITY CHURCH
CHURCH PLANTING IN HONG KONG
October 2014 marked the 4th Anniversary of Watermark Community Church since their first public launch. We are honored to come alongside with Pastor Tobin Miller in his church planting journey for Hong Kong. The church leadership has been gracious in supporting the regional training for church planters as well as incubating future church planters for Hong Kong. Watermark church heritage comes from a church, planted from series of at least five other church plants going back several generations in Hong Kong. At the core, Watermark always have a desire to continue this calling and to be actively involved in the process of identifying, training, funding and equipping future church planters and planting new urban churches.
The vision for Watermark was first and foremost to fulfill the passage in Luke 10, where Jesus was asked by a young lawyer the requirements of the law. Jesus answered by quoting the passages from the Old Testament in Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 19:18, which say we are to "Love the Lord your God with all of our heart, with all of our soul, and with all of our strength, and with all of our mind; and we are to love our neighbor as ourselves". From this foundation, the church long to see its future to:
BUILD A GREAT CITY OF HONG KONG FOR ALL PEOPLES THROUGH THE GOSPEL
HELP BELIEVERS AND NON-BELIEVERS ALIKE EXAMINE THE CLAIMS OF THE GOSPEL
CONSISTENTLY MODEL A PASSIONATE DEPENDENCE ON GOD THROUGH PRAYER
CONTRIBUTE POSITIVELY AND UNIQUELY TO CULTURE
among other desires, dreams, and passions of Watermark.
